A Vibrant Tribute to Huichol Shamanism

"Venado Azul" is a captivating painting that channels the mysticism originally discovered by the Huichol Mexican Indiginous tribe.  The Huichol make a pilgrimage across the desert each year to engage in ritual ceremonies with the peyote medicine, or peyotito, that is a native cactus to the San Luis de Potosi desert.  Inspired by the sacred peyote vision quests, this artwork brings to life the venado azul—the blue deer, a revered spirit guide who is a guardian and protector of anyone who engages on this spirit quest and those who engage with peyotito.
